TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC NOTICE 2026

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council consider it necessary or expedient by reason of works being executed on the following length of road that the prohibition should come into force without delay under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Notice.

 

  1. No person shall cause any class of traffic to proceed over that length of Whalley Road, Pendleton from a point adjacent to Barraclough Cottage to its junction with Littlemoor.

 

  1. Nothing in this notice shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

 

  1. The prohibition will be operative from 10:45 hours until 23:59 hours on 21st January 2026 or until completion of the works within this period.  

 

  1. A diversion will be signed locally.

 

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow urgent carriageway works to be carried out.
